Install DRepTalk as an app on your home screen

Last updated 2026-08-02

You can install DRepTalk as an app on your home screen: it opens in its own window and behaves like a native app, with no app store needed. (For the technically minded, this kind of installable web app is called a progressive web app, or PWA.) On iPhone and iPad installing is more than a shortcut: push notifications on iOS and iPadOS only work from the installed home-screen app, not from a website open in Safari. That is an Apple platform rule, not a DRepTalk limitation.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open dreptalk.com in Safari. Since iOS and iPadOS 16.4 some other browsers can add home-screen apps too, but Safari is the most reliable path, so these steps use it.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with the arrow pointing up) in the toolbar.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Confirm the name and tap Add.

DRepTalk now appears on your home screen like an app and opens in its own window. To receive push notifications, open it from there and sign in. On a phone there is no wallet extension to sign with, so use Pair a phone or tablet: the app shows a code that you approve from a computer where you are already signed in. Pair from inside the installed app: it keeps its own sign-in. On iOS and iPadOS 17.2 and later your current cookies are copied in when you install, but the app and the browser tab keep separate storage afterwards, so a later sign-in in one does not carry to the other.

Once signed in, go to Notifications and enable push under Push notifications. iOS asks for notification permission once; after allowing it, DRepTalk notifications appear like any other app’s, including on the lock screen.

Requires iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or newer.

Sharing a page from the app

The installed app runs without a browser address bar, so to pass on what you are looking at, use the Share button. It appears in the header inside the app and on every governance action, DRep profile, discussion, and vote rationale. It opens your device’s share sheet (or copies the link) so you can post it, send it in a message, or open it in your wallet’s in-app browser.

Android

Adding to the home screen is optional on Android: push notifications also work from the normal browser. If you prefer an app-like window, open the browser menu and choose Add to home screen (or Install app).

Either way, there is no wallet extension on a phone to sign in with, so use Pair a phone or tablet to sign in: it shows a code that you approve from a computer where you are already signed in. Pair from whichever surface you will actually use day to day, the installed app or the browser tab, since that is the one you need to be signed in on.

Desktop

No installation needed. Enable push under Notifications and your browser delivers them directly, even while DRepTalk is not open.
